1. The service and these terms
Lucy is operated by Archworks Technologies Pte Ltd, a company incorporated in Singapore (UEN 202552318N).
Lucy helps translate spoken instructions into updates to records in your active Excel workbook. Lucy Hub provides account and settings functions. Archworks Technologies Pte Ltd is the contracting party under these terms. Lucy is being prepared for desktop Excel release; this page does not announce availability, Marketplace approval, Excel web support or native Google Sheets support.
Lucy is a self-serve service for individuals and businesses. If you use it for an organization, you must have authority to do so and comply with its data-handling policies. An account does not include a negotiated enterprise service level, regulated-workflow certification or dedicated support commitment.
2. Your account and permissions
Protect your Microsoft or Google account and the devices on which you use Lucy. Provide accurate account information and tell us about suspected unauthorized access at colin@arcworkstech.com. Do not share access credentials or impersonate another person.
Sign-in is for Lucy identity only. It does not authorize Lucy to browse OneDrive or Google Drive or use their spreadsheet APIs. You must have permission to use and change the active workbook and to send the relevant audio, worksheet context and instructions to Lucy and its providers. Obtain any necessary permission from people whose voices or personal information you process.
You must have the legal capacity to agree to these terms and satisfy any consent requirements that apply to your use of Lucy. A sign-in provider’s approval does not establish those requirements on Lucy’s behalf.
3. Review your spreadsheet changes
Lucy can mishear speech or misinterpret an instruction. Check the selected workbook, worksheet, header row and record-key column before listening. Review transcriptions, command outcomes and the resulting cells before relying on them. One utterance may contain several commands; some may succeed while others are skipped or fail.
Lucy is designed to skip ambiguous or incomplete commands, but this is not a promise of perfect accuracy. An uncertain outcome can mean a change was made without a confirmed acknowledgement. Inspect the outcome and workbook before trying again; repeating a command can produce an unwanted change. Previous-value capture and spoken history do not provide a backup or an undo guarantee.
Keep appropriate independent workbook backups and use review controls suited to your work. Do not rely on Lucy for safety-critical decisions, or as a substitute for required professional judgment, validation, quality systems or regulatory certification.
4. Free access and usage limits
Initial access uses free Starter features. It does not require a paid subscription or include Pro persistent spoken history and export. Future pricing or plan descriptions do not give you a present entitlement to unreleased features or create a payment obligation.
- Each Lucy account has two hours of listening per day, shared across devices, resetting at midnight UTC. Time counts from the first accepted audio frame and includes silence; setup and microphone-permission waiting time are excluded.
- Starter listening stops after five minutes without recognized speech or a new Lucy command attempt. Continuous voice activity can keep a session active beyond five minutes. Silent frames, ordinary manual Excel edits and background polling do not reset the inactivity timer.
- After inactivity or allowance exhaustion, listening requires an explicit restart. Resetting the daily allowance does not automatically restart it. Only one listening stream can use an account at a time.
- Time is reserved in short intervals. An interrupted connection without a confirmed stop may count up to 15 seconds of outstanding reserved time. Other command, audio, session and abuse-prevention limits also apply. The daily allowance is not a guarantee of uninterrupted access.
5. Supported use and availability
The desktop implementation is designed for editable, rectangular worksheets with headers and identifiable records. Hidden rows or columns, merged cells, active filters and Excel tables are outside the current supported worksheet shape. Lucy requires internet access and compatible Excel, microphone and host permissions. It does not update closed workbooks or offer offline speech processing.
Network, hosting, identity, speech, AI and Excel services can interrupt use. Listening or commands may stop when a target changes, permission is lost, a usage limit is reached or a dependency fails. There is no guaranteed uptime, response time, accuracy level or uninterrupted availability. Features may change as the service develops, subject to applicable law and any rights already granted to you.
6. Acceptable use
- Use Lucy lawfully and only with data and workbooks you are authorized to process.
- Do not use it to infringe privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property or other rights.
- Do not bypass usage limits, create accounts to evade restrictions, or interfere with another user.
- Do not disrupt, overload, compromise or gain unauthorized access to Lucy or its providers.
- Do not use Lucy in a way that requires a regulatory approval or certification it has not obtained.
7. Your content and privacy
You retain your rights in your workbook and other content. You give Lucy permission to process and transmit the content needed to carry out your instructions and provide the features you choose, as described in the Privacy Policy. This does not transfer ownership of your data or grant a general right to use it for unrelated purposes.
Lucy’s software, branding and website content remain the property of their respective owners. You may use the service for its intended purpose under these terms; this does not transfer those rights to you. Microsoft, Google and other third-party products have their own terms. Using a sign-in provider does not imply that it endorses Lucy.
8. Suspension and ending use
You may stop using Lucy at any time. Stop listening, sign out and remove the add-in if you no longer want to use it. Contact colin@arcworkstech.com about account closure or a privacy request. Signing out or removing the add-in does not itself delete account records or history.
Access may be restricted, suspended or ended where reasonably necessary to address a breach of these terms, abuse, a security risk or a legal requirement. Access may also be suspended if we learn that you lack legal capacity to agree or required consent is missing; related data requests are handled under applicable law and the Privacy Policy. Where practicable and lawful, Lucy will explain the reason and how to contact us about it. Urgent protective action may happen without advance notice.
Ending access does not undo changes already made to a workbook. Information handling remains subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy; termination is not a promise to erase all data immediately.
9. Disclaimers and liability
To the extent permitted by law, Lucy is provided “as is” and “as available,” without additional warranties of fitness for a particular purpose, error-free operation or accuracy. You must evaluate whether it is suitable for your workflow and review its results.
To the extent permitted by law, Lucy’s operator is not liable for indirect or consequential losses or loss of profits arising from use of the service.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer guarantees, remedies and other rights continue to apply.
10. Changes, disputes and contact
Contact colin@arcworkstech.com with service questions or concerns so they can be addressed. This does not restrict your right to seek a remedy under applicable law.
These terms are governed by Singapore law. The courts of Singapore have non-exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from these terms or your use of Lucy. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law of your country of residence or any right to bring a claim in your local courts. These terms do not require arbitration or waive collective claims.
Material changes should be notified before they take effect where required by law; any required agreement must be obtained.
